“This comical role as The King has been such a refreshing change from such serious roles in the past” said Java, who recently performed as Romeo in Tampa Ballet Theatre’s Romantic Pas De Deux performance last February.
Alice In Wonderland is a 2 act ballet based off of the 1865 novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland written by Lewis Carrol, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. The Music is by Carl Davis who created the original Alice in Wonderland score in 1995 mostly derived of the famous Tchaikovsky’s works. The story of Alice in Wonderland follows a young girl named Alice who falls down the rabbit hole and discovers the mysterious world called Wonderland. Alice encounters many strange creatures while in Wonderland including the grinning Cheshire Cat (Heather Mills) and the curious Caterpillar (Brooke Bayless). Alice In Wonderland will be an exciting and mad time suitable for all families to enjoy.
“A lot of people think of ballet as an uptight art,” states Clark, “although ballet itself is very structured, not all ballets are meant to be taken seriously. Alice In Wonderland is meant to be comical and outrageously silly.”
